Hi there!

 

My name is Erin Scouten and I specialize in baby, child, family, senior, and general portrait photography in Chesapeake, VA and Harrisonburg, VA (James Madison University)! Although, I absolutely adore traveling so don’t let my location deter you from working with me! Photography has been my passion and total obsession since I received my first DSLR camera, junior year of high school. I had the opportunity to learn everything I know from an incredible photographer, role-model and friend; whom I will forever be grateful for. Eventually, I felt secure enough with myself and my photography that I could have my own business. I strive to capture bright, natural and candid memories that will last a lifetime.  I adore interacting with people, hearing their stories, and constantly gathering inspiration from each person that I work with throughout my photography journey. I am so honored that I am able to capture such important moments in peoples’ lives; whether that moment is the birth of a new baby to your family, a child quickly changing, candid family time, a senior graduating and moving on to his/her next stage in life, a couple in love, or someone just wanting beautiful portraits.

• I love my friends and family with all of my heart

• Happy people are my favorite people

• I also dabble in Graphic Design and am pursuing a bachelor’s of fine arts degree in it at James Madison University

• I write in either all caps or all cursive (occasionally a mix of both)

• I love to travel, I have an obsession with driving my car, and one day I WILL drive across the country—taking photos the whole time

• Good food, giant smiles, beautiful people, and laughter make for the perfect combination

• I absolutely adore babies—I have been called a baby-whisperer on multiple occasions and I will voluntarily hold them for hours at a time

• Dogs, Apple products, Art, Art Museums, New York City, Smoothies, and Caffeine have my heart
